Home for a visit!!!!!

We arrived at the airport late Tuesday night with baggy eyes and bufferflies in our tummies. Almost fourteen months have passed since we left Canada on a journey that would nothing short of change our lives forever. Bursting with excitement to see family, wrestling with the emotions of saying goodbye to our girls for a few weeks and trying to find our place in a land that seems so familiar yet so estranged.

The silly Western luxuries we've so missed over this past year (comfy couches, warm baths, chocolate & yummy cheese) are both welcoming and daunting. The combination of wanting to jump in and indulge is met with the sharp reminder of where we've been. Bouncing between two extremes of poverty and western bliss challenges the mind. Finding comfort and peace in Faith, we rest in knowing as everything else changes, Christ remains our solid rock and foundation through it all.

We would love to see you during our short visit home to Canada before we return to Mozambique.
This Sunday morning (October 11th at 10:30am we are honoured to have the opportunity to preach at Grace Presbyterian Church in Orleans. And we're so excited to be joining KCM Church at the launch of their new location (Carleton University) on October 18th & October 25th (

We will also be hosting a night in Kanata on Tuesday, October 13th at 7:30 pm to share more of our memories, stories, videos, and journey in Mozambique- a country that captivates the heart yet devastates the mind

Or feel free to drop by the Hintenburg Community Centre (Wellington Room) on Wednesday, October 14th anytime between 5:15pm-7:00pm for an evening geared towards our former students and their families.

Please email me at or call the Bourk Family at 613 592 2675 to get the address.

Until then, Evan will be sipping back his good old Canadian coffee. Cheers!
